25 fun facts about Spencer

Everyone! My most favorite human ever is turning 25! May 29th is seriously one of my most favorite days! If you know him, you should wish him a Happy Birthday. Babe, I sure do love you have hope you have the best birthday ever, you certainly deserve it. I thought you would all enjoy some fun facts about Spencer. Some will already know these, but he's a pretty awesome so a repeat of facts never hurts. Ready? I am!

1- He has the most tender heart ever
2- He is a Dota fanatic (and Battle Grounds and some others I think?)
3- He is an Electrical Engineer enthusiast (Psh who wants to obtain a PhD in EE, my hubby does, because he's awesome, that's who!)
4- He is a Star Wars lover
5- He really wants a dog (specifically a German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, or a Nova Scotia Retriever)
6- He falls asleep instantly when I play with his hair. It's quite funny, then when I stop, boom he's awake.
7- He loves hand massages and neck massages. I actually can't fall asleep very well unless I tickle is neck or back.
8- He can watch Netflix while doing homework, for hours, and somehow get lots of studying and homework done.
9- He is very dedicated to continuing his education and his career
10- He can run on very little sleep, without the need of a nap (unlike me!)
11- He loves his dog Patrick, and has threatened to have him stuffed when he passes to doggy heaven so he can always have him around (I hope he is really kidding about this one!!)
12- He LOVES adventure. He is always wanting to go do something like hiking, snowboarding, and now camping. Of course there are several other things he really wants to do, like cliff jumping and swimming with sharks, but there is no way I would ever do that, so he's stuck with the basics
13- He hates eating ice cream when it's cold outside. Which is bad because I could eat ice cream when it's -30 degrees outside, so I make him go. Love makes you do funny things, like this!
14- He has so many button-up shirts it's comical. I am waiting for the day when he comes home with a pocket protector.
15- He drinks milk and juice from the bottle or jug. He still tries to hide it, but I just laugh at him now when I used to get so mad at him for doing that.
16- He laughs out loud at South Park and Rick and Morty. Even though he knows how much I despise those shows. He also lets out his adorable chuckle at The Office and Parks and Rec and the show Ridiculousness.
17- He could eat tacos, or burritos, or any type of Mexican food for days. It wouldn't even phase him if I had scheduled Mexican meals every day for weeks.
18- He spends hours on Reddit a day, but does find really cute puppy videos, sooo... yeah, we need a puppy!
19- He has Disney songs to Head banger songs downloaded on his Spotify. (He totally has Moana on  his phone!)
20- He makes a mean grilled cheese sandwich!
21- He loves Butterfingers, Starburst Jelly beans, and most chocolate
22- He can easily polish off a bottle of Hershey chocolate syrup for chocolate milk in about a week, if I let him ;)
23- He encourages me to try new things and is my biggest cheerleader and supporter.
24- He has rubbed my belly several times to try and get baby E to move. So far, on the plane ride home from Paris, he has felt her once.
25- I know he is going to be a great daddy because of many of these reasons listed.

Below are just some recent pictures :)

Happy Birthday my love! Thank you for all that you do for me and for baby E. I am so excited to watch you become a dad. I am so excited for you to start a new chapter of life with a full time job and research. You are wonderful! Time to go party now that a quarter of a century has passed you by you old man. I love you!

Potty Training and tips

I know most of you won't care about this post, but I know my future self will be grateful for it. Potty training is so tricky and it really tested my patience. I know everyone experiences it differently and each kid is different. I did a bunch of research on tricks and tips. I didn't just stick to one, I tried a few different ones and even combined some. Let's start from the beginning. Spencer and I wanted to have Evie potty trained before our new little one arrives. I can't even begin to tell you how many people told me I should wait until the new baby came. A good chunk of these same people told me Evie was too young (she is 22 months) and it wasn't worth my time to even try. Here's the thing; I kind of get why people told me these things, but it really made me doubt my abilities to teach Evie a hard task. Let's all be kind and not mom shame those who try things differently and earlier than others. I am with her all day, every day and paid attention to a...

What being in college has taught me

I know I have been terrible at writing on my blog the past couple of months. School has engulfed my attention and honestly blogging has been the last on my priority list. I wanted to write blog about my college experience... since I graduate in 53 days. I am thrilled beyond words to be this close to being done. I had know idea it would feel like this nor that it would come so soon. In just a few short months I will be able to call myself a graduate of Health Promotion and Education with an emphasis in Community, also being eligible to become CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) certified. Wow what a mouthful! Being in college was not like I expected, it was much more. I have been through the worst of worst and the best of best experiences. I would like to share with you what I have learned in the past four years (From beginning to end), I hope you can get a good laugh about it. To those who have yet to start college, I strongly encourage you to start thinking about going. You w...

Help me raise money for a cause (Part 1)

As many of you know, I have Type 1 Diabetes for 10 years in August 2013. For those of you who don't know, I would like to share my story (in summary). At the end of the school year while in the 5th grade I started to lose my vision. Things started to change quickly inside of my body. I was never feeling fully energized and I was constantly feeling like I had to go to the bathroom and drink lots of water. I started to lose weight and the color in my cheeks started to disappear. The first two weeks in the 6th grade I weighed a scarce 73 pounds. My eyes were sunk in and my cheek bones were poking out. My mom took me to the doctors. After a quick finger prick, they found out that my blood sugar was 831mg/dl. (Normal target range is 80-120 mg/dl) That was a very dangerous number! I was then told I had to be taken directly to Primary's; I couldn't even go home to get things. Both my mom and I were in a mix of emotions. Not long after being admitted to the hospital, I was given th...
