100 days until my new journey begins

Friends, family, neighbors, can you believe that there is only 100 days left of this adventure? It has been so crazy the past little bit, but I am so grateful for everyday. I do apologize for not posting prior to this but... this whole getting married thing is way more important! I would love to catch you up on things though, and quite frankly there is a lot to catch you up on, but I'll spare you the boring details and skip straight to the fun ones!

Spencer and I have been engaged for almost two months. I thought I had a lot planned before we got engaged... no it was all in my head, but now... now everything is planned and coming together smoothly. It's crazy how fast time has gone, I am not complaining at all though. I will admit though, being engaged has brought some stress (mostly expected stress, and only currently engaged or married women will understand this). Trying to coordinate everything from the flowers I hold to the linens on the tables, down to the last speck of glitter I place on things. I love it but man it sure is exhausting planning a wedding, good thing I am only doing this once.

Spencer and I have both been busy with work and his summer school. Our date nights are cheap and mostly revolve around the wedding (sorry baby) but it is very fun. I find it comforting that I found such an amazing guy, he is such a big help with things. I know the crafty things he leaves up to me but he helps in many other ways that no one else an comprehend the meaning it has to me. I know it's so cliche to say this but I literally fall more in love with him every day, no joke. Even when we have our little hiccups about things he is the first one I lean on to receive the comfort I am looking for. I love it because he can just be sitting next to me and sense there is something going on. Secretly I am sure he loves helping me plan our wedding.

As we bounce from one task to another, finally results are coming. We can check things off our once long "To Do List", hallelujah! Most of the big things are done with the exception of actually having my dress in my hands. It's a long, long story, but finally my dress will be perfect and with me soon. Engagements: check! Cake: check! Luncheon: check!  Reception: check!Sealing time and place: check! Honeymoon: check! Center pieces: check! Bed frame: check! (ha ha we are proud of our first really big purchase together so I had to add this one). Anyway, you get the picture. Progress is all I am seeing.

Anyway, I will try to be better at blogging! But the countdown is on, 100 days until I marry into the best family I could  ever ask for and have my best friend become my husband! I sure am lucky!

Potty Training and tips

I know most of you won't care about this post, but I know my future self will be grateful for it. Potty training is so tricky and it really tested my patience. I know everyone experiences it differently and each kid is different. I did a bunch of research on tricks and tips. I didn't just stick to one, I tried a few different ones and even combined some. Let's start from the beginning. Spencer and I wanted to have Evie potty trained before our new little one arrives. I can't even begin to tell you how many people told me I should wait until the new baby came. A good chunk of these same people told me Evie was too young (she is 22 months) and it wasn't worth my time to even try. Here's the thing; I kind of get why people told me these things, but it really made me doubt my abilities to teach Evie a hard task. Let's all be kind and not mom shame those who try things differently and earlier than others. I am with her all day, every day and paid attention to a...

What being in college has taught me

I know I have been terrible at writing on my blog the past couple of months. School has engulfed my attention and honestly blogging has been the last on my priority list. I wanted to write blog about my college experience... since I graduate in 53 days. I am thrilled beyond words to be this close to being done. I had know idea it would feel like this nor that it would come so soon. In just a few short months I will be able to call myself a graduate of Health Promotion and Education with an emphasis in Community, also being eligible to become CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) certified. Wow what a mouthful! Being in college was not like I expected, it was much more. I have been through the worst of worst and the best of best experiences. I would like to share with you what I have learned in the past four years (From beginning to end), I hope you can get a good laugh about it. To those who have yet to start college, I strongly encourage you to start thinking about going. You w...

How to know when to be grateful!

Happy Thanksgiving friends! Wow time has sure flown by, I want to apologize for it taking so long for me to blog... my life literally has been crazy these past few weeks. Now I am not asking for a pity party, or your sympathy, because all of the incidents that have happened to me have helped me me more grateful for the things that I have instead of the things that I yearn after. Well buckle up, I am going to take you on my adventure the past couple of weeks. This time of year is when everyone should be gathering together and celebrating with family. Well my family has been doing so, but not like one would want. In the past two months or so , my family has had two surgeries, an emergency room visit, two cars break down to where we ended up getting a new car, and a sister get married,a sister get engaged, and a sister have an ovarian cyst burst. At first we all kept asking, when will we ever get a break from this hectic way of life. Well it never will get any easier,...
