A little bit of Fun!!

Friends!! How are you! Much has happened since the last post, but everything good. So no worries!!
After a little bit of peer pressure, I finally joined Pinterest... holy cow, I am in love. What little time I have left over, I find myself pinning, oh dear, what are we going to do?
Anyway- The past few weeks, I have been on stress mode, yes some of it has been good stress, but sometimes, I had the stress that makes you cry. What fun it has been trying to overcome this, I have found new ways on how to relax, one thing is just hope. Hope for the best, for it is always around some corner. Even if things go the way you weren't expecting, the best thing you need is in fact hope! Let me share some good news... I officially have six more semesters until I receive my Bachelor's at the University of Utah! When people ask me what my major is, I think it is funny when I see their reaction. So everyone hold your breath, it is- Health Promotion and Education with an emphasis in Community and a Minor in Nutrition. Whew! Did you get that! Anyway, I am so so excited to have one of my many dreams come true! It's my time to find Joy in my journey and so far, I am full of Joy and happiness.
As many of you know, my style of things right now is a bit abstract, but you know I feel it fits my personality. I was looking through my closet, clothes and shoes, and I didn't realize how many things I have been blessed with. I realized I take a lot for granted. For instance, I am grateful I have a job so I can have a fun style. I am grateful for friends and family that accept me for who I am, regardless of how many colors or patterns I am wearing in one outfit. I am grateful that I am willing to branch out to try new things. As I was sorting through things, to make it looked semi-organized, I began to realize that my favorite pattern in things are stripes. I don't even know how many stripped shirts, shoes, jackets, socks, etc. things I have, but let me tell you, they can go with anything! I bought a new shirt the other day and by gosh it was stripes, Go figure! I showed my mom and she just laughed, all she said was "What no solids this time?" Ha ha crazy me, I should branch away from stripes... and go for just solids!

(See What I mean...)
So ladies, if you haven't had the chance to try Shellac, you totally should. My awesome cousin did my nails, and I am in love! I have a fetish about not having chipped nail polish, but I swear an hour after it goes on, I chip a nail, then I get into the bad habit of picking the rest of them off. Well I have a solution to this problem... GET SHELLAC! It is like nail polish except it doesn't chip, and lasts forever. Why I haven't tried this sooner beats me, but this might become a new addiction.
Well last but not least... As my niece is getting older, I am becoming closer with her! She is my little buddy and I am her "Tacey's"! Every time I come home from something, she will come up to me and ask to dance! Heck I sure do love it! We have two songs and if we don't dance to both of them, she will try and control the mouse on the computer and start pushing buttons until both are done. We get to "Shake it" and scream out loud to our "Tooty ta" dance. Needless to say, I get the chance to speed my heart rate up and burn some extra calories.
Every moment of my life seems to be getting better, in some way or another. I have surrounded myself with great people and I have never felt so happy. The blessings my life are continuing and the love I feel for others is growing to the point where it is almost unbelievable. I am so happy that I have been able to feel a change in my life. I would like to end with a quote by President Hinkley, "Go forward with a twinkle in your eye, a smile on your face, but with great purpose in your heart."

The journey of my new smile...

I felt like blogging about the journey of getting my new smile. Oh boy! It sure has been a long, painful, and exciting process. In May of  2000 I was riding my bike, like a big girl (I was 8) with a bunch of my siblings and cousins, to my grandma's church (which was just down the street from where she lives. Staying on the side of the road as instructed, there was a man hole cover that was not pushed down all the way. Being toward the back of the bike line I didn't notice that it was up about three or so inches. Everyone else had dodged it and went around it. I, going full speed to keep up went straight over it and flipped over my bike handle bar, bike still in hand I landed on my stomach. I got up, a little dizzy and discombobulated got up thinking that was pretty sweet that I survived that epic crash. I didn't know how bad it was until my sister Kelsey started screaming "Kacey! Kacey! You have blood running down your face!" I immediately put my hand to my face a

10 years going strong!

Friends! I am dedicating this post to my upcoming 10 year Anniversary with Type 1 Diabetes. I would like to share my story, for some it may make you cry, others it will hit home, and for some I know you will read the title and not get what you expected. But please I ask you to read so that you know where I stand. Ten years ago on August 5, 2003 my mom took me to see my Pediatrician. We went in there together and came out with news no one expects to hear. To be honest I thought it was a great way to get out of school, but after I received the news I would have taken school back. We went in not knowing what to expect, however everyone who knew me, knew that I was sick. I was in the 6th grade and lost 20 pounds in a short period of 2 weeks. I was literally a walking skeleton at less than 70 pounds. My cheeks were sunk in, the rose color that was naturally on my skin was gone, and there were dark circles around my eyes. I had no energy at all. To get up to my room (at the time) I had to

19 going on 20!!

Well, I'm super excited to no longer be a "teen"! Even though it's not that old, I feel old! So much has happened in 20 years. A little bit ago I have had the opportunity of where I was all by myself and I was flooded with memories. I have been through a lot but I believe that is was not to torture me, to make me cry or even hurt me. I believe that because of all the things I have gond through, I am the person I am today. I look back at who I was, just a year ago, oh how weak I was, getting hurt by silly things, crying for pointless things, and still... very childish. Although I will always be young at heart, I look at myself now, and see the exact oppostie. I am much stronger than I used to be both physically and mentally. Yes I still cry, but it's different now. I have had to grow up a lot over the last little bit, and I have never been more grateful. Recently I had a conversation with  a really good friend of mine. It made me realize, I'm pretty lucky! So
