Spring Break 2012

This year... Spring Break was awesome! I had the wonderful opportunity to go to St. George to visit my twin and her hubby! I left on Saturday and came home on Thursday, although it was a short visit, I had so much fun and many memories were made! I could write pages upon pages about the few days I spent down, so I am going to do the famous bullet point list!!!
-The weather was BEAUTIFUL
-I went to church with Kels and Chris, in Relief Society, A lady thought I was Kelsey and started asking me questions that I should know the answer to... when she realized I was not Kels, we both laughed out loud in the quiet room!
-I slept on Mickey Mouse Sheets!!!
- I survived my first Brazilian wax, I was a model for Kels, and I laughed the WHOLE time, who does that?
-I got a spray tan so I wouldn't look so ghostly, ha it turned out ok
- I found out that I am going to be an aunt, again. Kelsey and Chris are expecting a baby around November! I could not be happier for them! I was there with them when they found out the news, we were all so shocked, but so so so SO excited! We skyped my parents and aunt and uncle with the good news, it was so funny! (ha ha even though she is 6 weeks, we still went looking at baby clothes!)
-Kelsey and Chris claimed that they were boring, trust me they are the exact opposite!
-Got pedicures by a super cute girl, she even gave us a special to do shellac on our toes!
- Walked to the grocery store a few times
- Made gluten free pizza, Chris is a trooper for trying it! Kesley and I almost messed is up.... we would!
- Random college boys knocked on the door... invited us to this "huge" party... creepy!
- VEGAS!!!
-We went to Primm Valley shopping center, it was fun, and I got a cute pair of pants!
- Drove to another mall... we almost did a 360 in the middle of an intersection... ha Nevada needs to keep the roads clean and clear...
-Did lots of shopping
-Played "Your team" I think I lost, but Kelsey did get all the Asians... so I don't know what is worse ha ha good times!
-Rode the Tram over Vegas, it was pretty sweet, especially at night.
-Did more shopping!
-Went to four Nike stores
- Ate at Diablo's... it was super yummy, "Everything here is so big, you definitely get your money's worth!" HA oh Kels!!!
- Beans... ha ha
-Went to the LICK store in the Monte Carlo
- I have the best twin ever!
This spring break was much needed, and I made so many memories! Never let a day go by that you don't smile at something! Life is too short to be sad, so make the best of it and great things shall come!! I can't wait to go back to visit!

Potty Training and tips

I know most of you won't care about this post, but I know my future self will be grateful for it. Potty training is so tricky and it really tested my patience. I know everyone experiences it differently and each kid is different. I did a bunch of research on tricks and tips. I didn't just stick to one, I tried a few different ones and even combined some. Let's start from the beginning. Spencer and I wanted to have Evie potty trained before our new little one arrives. I can't even begin to tell you how many people told me I should wait until the new baby came. A good chunk of these same people told me Evie was too young (she is 22 months) and it wasn't worth my time to even try. Here's the thing; I kind of get why people told me these things, but it really made me doubt my abilities to teach Evie a hard task. Let's all be kind and not mom shame those who try things differently and earlier than others. I am with her all day, every day and paid attention to a...

Help me raise money for a cause (Part 1)

As many of you know, I have Type 1 Diabetes for 10 years in August 2013. For those of you who don't know, I would like to share my story (in summary). At the end of the school year while in the 5th grade I started to lose my vision. Things started to change quickly inside of my body. I was never feeling fully energized and I was constantly feeling like I had to go to the bathroom and drink lots of water. I started to lose weight and the color in my cheeks started to disappear. The first two weeks in the 6th grade I weighed a scarce 73 pounds. My eyes were sunk in and my cheek bones were poking out. My mom took me to the doctors. After a quick finger prick, they found out that my blood sugar was 831mg/dl. (Normal target range is 80-120 mg/dl) That was a very dangerous number! I was then told I had to be taken directly to Primary's; I couldn't even go home to get things. Both my mom and I were in a mix of emotions. Not long after being admitted to the hospital, I was given th...

Shiveley's take California 2015

This is our California adventure. Lots of pictures here because I didn't want to blow up your Instagram feed or Facebook feed Spencer and I have been dying to go back to California pretty much since we got back from our honeymoon. (I don't really remember the exact time though). Suddenly we were saving up and then we bought our tickets to an Angel's game as soon as they were available. We were like little kids and were counting down the days until we could go. Finally the time came for us to leave our little apartment for a few days to enjoy our vacation. We woke early on the day we left and literally hit zero traffic. Of course I drifted off for a little bit, as I normally do on road trips. While driving we came upon this huge and long cloud that covered the road. It was way neat, so naturally I snapped a picture in the midst of it. On our way there we realized we were making great timing. We arrived in Vegas around 11:30ish. We decided we needed to get out and stret...
