What most girls like...

So I must admit, girls are confusing, sometimes I don't even understand them and I am one! However coming from an all girl family we all have some things in common. Here is a list of things I think most (if not all) girls have in common. Guys this might be helpful (or not) but seriously don't make things too complicated, this list should help a little. We like (love or crave or know or whatever....) to....

-We like to wear sweats, more than normal clothes, especially when it is cold.
-(Despite what I said in the previous one...) We love to have the opportunity to dress-up, make-up, hair, clothes, shoes, the whole 9 yards.
-We love to get hugs!
-We love to just cuddle and be kissed on the forehead!
-We like to not wear make-up 100% of the time, it feels great to be natural.
-We love to buy and get new shoes, shirts, pants, scarves, jewelry, everything! (However don't feel that you have to spoil us with buying us all of these things)
-We love to randomly get a text/phone call from our significant other saying "I love you" or something mushy like that, bring on the cat names!
-We like to drive, yes even when we are dating someone.
-We have jobs too, so most like to pay for things, but not all of the time.
-We love to get flowers, especially from those we love.
-We like to have muscles, not too big, but we like to workout to feel better about ourselves.
-We love pedicures/manicures.
-We like to have our backs and shoulders rubbed too!
-We like to NOT eat a salad everywhere we go to eat.
-We love holding hands with our significant other (you get extra points if it is in public or in front of friends/family)
-We like to vent about our problems, let us have our girl nights, but we like to talk to you about things as well.
-We like to eat chocolate/chocolate covered things
-We love random phone calls, even if it is just to say "Hey are you ready, because I am on my way"
-We like to paint our nails.
-We like those Action movies, but love our Chick-Flicks.
-We love to have our hair done, whether it be colored, cut, styled, or just played with.
-We like to be by ourselves sometimes. This is not to try and offend you, but we need our time just like you need yours.
-We usually like to try new things and be adventurous. Don't be afraid to ask!
-We like to be creative/crafty.
-We like to take pictures, yes even the cheesy ones!
-We love to get compliments, especially from our significant others.
-We like to be surprised!
-We like to be ourselves, so if you don't like that first off... shame on you for trying to change us.
-We might sometimes need to cry and be upset, don't be shocked, every girl will do it at some point, it's important to give us our space but be there as well, let us know you care.
-We want you to know that the small things matter!

Don't be overwhelmed ha ha, and don't hate me for posting this! I just thought it would help :)
So GO FORTH AND... DO!! I love you all!

Potty Training and tips

I know most of you won't care about this post, but I know my future self will be grateful for it. Potty training is so tricky and it really tested my patience. I know everyone experiences it differently and each kid is different. I did a bunch of research on tricks and tips. I didn't just stick to one, I tried a few different ones and even combined some. Let's start from the beginning. Spencer and I wanted to have Evie potty trained before our new little one arrives. I can't even begin to tell you how many people told me I should wait until the new baby came. A good chunk of these same people told me Evie was too young (she is 22 months) and it wasn't worth my time to even try. Here's the thing; I kind of get why people told me these things, but it really made me doubt my abilities to teach Evie a hard task. Let's all be kind and not mom shame those who try things differently and earlier than others. I am with her all day, every day and paid attention to a...

Help me raise money for a cause (Part 1)

As many of you know, I have Type 1 Diabetes for 10 years in August 2013. For those of you who don't know, I would like to share my story (in summary). At the end of the school year while in the 5th grade I started to lose my vision. Things started to change quickly inside of my body. I was never feeling fully energized and I was constantly feeling like I had to go to the bathroom and drink lots of water. I started to lose weight and the color in my cheeks started to disappear. The first two weeks in the 6th grade I weighed a scarce 73 pounds. My eyes were sunk in and my cheek bones were poking out. My mom took me to the doctors. After a quick finger prick, they found out that my blood sugar was 831mg/dl. (Normal target range is 80-120 mg/dl) That was a very dangerous number! I was then told I had to be taken directly to Primary's; I couldn't even go home to get things. Both my mom and I were in a mix of emotions. Not long after being admitted to the hospital, I was given th...

Shiveley's take California 2015

This is our California adventure. Lots of pictures here because I didn't want to blow up your Instagram feed or Facebook feed Spencer and I have been dying to go back to California pretty much since we got back from our honeymoon. (I don't really remember the exact time though). Suddenly we were saving up and then we bought our tickets to an Angel's game as soon as they were available. We were like little kids and were counting down the days until we could go. Finally the time came for us to leave our little apartment for a few days to enjoy our vacation. We woke early on the day we left and literally hit zero traffic. Of course I drifted off for a little bit, as I normally do on road trips. While driving we came upon this huge and long cloud that covered the road. It was way neat, so naturally I snapped a picture in the midst of it. On our way there we realized we were making great timing. We arrived in Vegas around 11:30ish. We decided we needed to get out and stret...
