Oh the things we do!

Friends! I cannot believe that this semester is almost over! Well deep down inside I am saying "FINALLY!!!" because this one has been tough but, hey everyone has to have one of those tough ones! I am also thrilled to see the beautiful spring weather, ah! Allergies here I come! Ha no just kidding, for all of you who suffer from those terrible sniffles and watery eyes during this season, I am so sorry, because they are no fun. I want to share with you what I did over the weekend, I sure did have lots of fun!
This weekend.....
-I started out the weekend going to the temple! I have been going the majority of the Fridays in this semester, and I have noticed that when I don't go, I never accomplish the things I want to for the weekend. All of the temple workers have now grown to know my name and always greet me with a warm hello. Al of them are wonderful people and set such a big example for me.
-I got a Joico treatment... wow these feel really good and are super good for your hair. I felt super relaxed and this deep conditioning treatment has got me hooked! Ha and even better it smells super yummy!
-I had to change my oil in my car... ha well that sure does add up, plus I had a tail light out, but it needed to be done. Now I am good for another couple of months!
-I made bridal shower invitations for my sister Courtney's shower! I am really excited to host it and I had lots of fun making them. (I love doing showers and I love planning them, even though my sister Kelsey is only 12 weeks along, I am starting to plan a baby shower for her!)
- My sister and best friend Kelsey and my brother-in-law came up for the weekend, we met at Arby's and had lunch after I changed my oil in my car. I sure love them, we laughed and enjoyed each other's company!
-I DID NOT STUDY AT ALL!! This might be bad ha the semester ends soon and finals are closer than I hope for.
-I got a free Jamba Juice!! Yummy!
-I turned my room into a waxing spot, Kelsey brought her business with her this weekend. It was super sweet and I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with her to get whatever you want waxed! She is very talented and she does skin things too! Her bed took up most of my room but I am so proud of her, she will receive her Master's in Esthetics's. You go sis!!
-Chis, Kelsey, and I went up to City Creek! It was their first time and my third, we had lots of fun! It was a beautiful day to go shopping! We went into the Lush store, and we got this amazing body butter, but one thing, it is in a bar! It smells super good, almost like you can eat it! Kelsey found this bar to help with stretch marks, ha I had to laugh about that, it is almost surreal that she is going to have a little Cunningham running around!
-As a family, we had a dinner, with everyone there! It has been a while since we all had dinner together! It was a family favorite, Red and White Pasta! Mmmmm delicious! 11 people and growing, all of us around on table is such a fun thing! We are loud, funny, and full of joy! We even were able to take a few family pictures! We had dessert and still let the fun last!
-After all of that Chris, Kelsey, Steph, and I all went to Target to get our outfits for Courtney's wedding! Yay we finally have our skirts and shirts! This is a huge step for us! Time to make headbands now!
- To finish off my weekend, I went to the president of my old sorority's farewell. I love my Theta ladies and it was wonderful to see them! I am so proud of Lisa and wish her luck! I hope to see all of them soon, and I am so grateful for them in my life!

The journey of my new smile...

I felt like blogging about the journey of getting my new smile. Oh boy! It sure has been a long, painful, and exciting process. In May of  2000 I was riding my bike, like a big girl (I was 8) with a bunch of my siblings and cousins, to my grandma's church (which was just down the street from where she lives. Staying on the side of the road as instructed, there was a man hole cover that was not pushed down all the way. Being toward the back of the bike line I didn't notice that it was up about three or so inches. Everyone else had dodged it and went around it. I, going full speed to keep up went straight over it and flipped over my bike handle bar, bike still in hand I landed on my stomach. I got up, a little dizzy and discombobulated got up thinking that was pretty sweet that I survived that epic crash. I didn't know how bad it was until my sister Kelsey started screaming "Kacey! Kacey! You have blood running down your face!" I immediately put my hand to my face a...

Personal Thought: A simple prayer answered

I had an experience a few weeks ago that helped me realize the power of prayer. This is kind of personal (not kind of... it is very personal), but I wanted to share it and maybe someone could benefit from it. For a while I have had abnormal bleeding (for long periods of time), not thinking really anything of it, I ignored it for months actually. At times it would be pretty painful, took some IB Profin, and I ignored it. I was talking to someone who said that with the IUD that I had, that bleeding that bad was not normal. Again, I didn't think anything of it. Spencer and I have been talking about our future family and this came up in conversation. Spencer is not as excited about starting our family this young but I am all over it. I was surprised when he asked me to go get it checked out, because something could be wrong. It took for me to hear him say that to go schedule an appointment. Of course I looked online of what it could possibly be and then I got nervous. I had be...

Living with Type 1 diabetes

Hey friends! This blog is dedicated to all of those who are suffering from yet living a full  and normal life with Type 1 diabetes. With a life long disease, isn't it wonderful to live in a time where we will find a cure one day for this disease? The technology is amazing and continues to help all of those who who have diabetes live a normal life. I would like to explain what it is like living with an autoimmune disease such as Type 1 diabetes. A normal day for a diabetic: Wake up, shower, get ready Test blood sugar, good number Prepare breakfast Count carbs Bolus Prepare lunch Count carbs Go to work Drink water Lunch time Test blood sugar, good number Bolus Back to work Drink water Clock out, go home Test blood sugar Go to the gym Test blood sugar, good number Eat snack Count Carbs Bolus Prepare dinner Test blood sugar, good number Eat dinner Count carbs Bolus Get ready for bed Test blood sugar, good number, no snack Go to bed Repeat.
